This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Responsible for staff supervision, budgeting, program development and quality control, community relations, collaborations, long-range planning and overall operations of the Health & Wellness Department.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Direct operations for and monitor effectiveness of Health & Wellness Department. Create and adjust fitness center and program offerings to meet the needs of participants.
- Provide leadership in strategy building that will enhance and grow programs and services, for assigned areas and in accordance with fitness trends.
- Hire, train, evaluate and supervise staff and volunteers in accordance with Association Human Resource procedures and policies. Provide direction and leadership to Health & Wellness Coordinator.
- Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets in accordance with Association Finance Department procedures and policies.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, as assigned.
- Provide assistance to Membership Engagement Director regarding Workplace Wellness offerings including providing on-site programs as needed.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of combined education and experience in recreation management and staff supervision required.
- Previous experience with group exercise, small group training, and personal training program management preferred.
Required Certifications
- Certifications that must be obtained and maintained within first 90 days: CPR PRO, AED , First Aid , Child Abuse Prevention, Blood borne Pathogens, Hazard Communication.
- Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $43,939.00 - $54,924.00
