This position will work directly with the Business Partnerships team and will play a key role in coordinating projects and processes that help increase revenue, optimize digital advertising delivery processes, and help create a strategy to increase traffic for the Sierra Club’s business partnerships programs and for Sierra Media properties, including SIERRA Magazine, its online and digital editions, and related e-newsletters. Business Partnerships are defined as all revenue-generating collaborations with companies, including affinity & cause-marketing partnerships, advertising, and sponsorships.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Partnership account coordination

  • Coordinates digital assets for promotions within the Sierra Club’s channels for its business partners including email, social media, e-newsletters, and web.
  • Assists with keeping track of contracts between Sierra Club and its business partners and vendors, including monitoring expiration dates and tracking contractual obligations with the Business Partnerships team.  Collaborates with internal teams on securing assets related to sponsorship promotions and deliverables (both digital and experiential/events).
  • Collaborates with Digital Marketing Manager (Business Partnerships) to develop and implement digital partner campaigns across Sierra Club and SIERRA Media channels.
  • Requests performance metrics from partners; tracks and analyzes with Sierra Club-side performance analytics. Provide recommendations for optimization. Generates regular internal reporting on the progress of partnerships and member benefits.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for partnership-related inquiries and inbounds via the Member Care team.
  • Coordinates staff and volunteer meetings as well as travel (as needed) for the Business Partnerships team.

Digital advertising account coordination

  • Coordinates digital advertising campaigns on all platforms including website, newsletters, digital edition, Flipsnack, etc. for Sierra Media. Assures smooth and efficient workflow using Google Analytics, DFP, and Google spreadsheets.
  • Coordinates digital advertising campaign preparation, materials, reporting, and analysis working in conjunction with Sierra Media’s Production Manager and Partnerships & Media Marketing Manager.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting to current advertisers. Generates weekly, monthly, and year-over-year reporting for Sierra Media digital properties, with benchmarks, analysis, and recommendations for optimization.
  • Works in association with the Production Manager & Media Marketing Manager to track and secure assets for digital advertising inventory.
  • Collaborates with staff who manage e-newsletter sends to plan inventory availability, scheduling, partner/advertiser materials, and execution.
  • Coordinates digital aspects of native advertising projects (custom and sponsored content) including assisting with ideation, collaborating with Digital, SIERRA editorial staff, and advertising sales reps in securing internal and external approvals, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
  • Continuously monitor traffic growth and provide regular updates to Business Partnerships team and external sales firm as well as recommendations on potential partner rate shifts/increases.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS degree or current equivalent practical experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years relevant experience in marketing, digital advertising, and project management
  • 2+ years of proven experience with accountability in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proactive, creative, and organized with strong communication skills 
  • Experience with Word, Excel and Google Docs, Google Analytics, Double-Click for Publishers required
  • Experience with Salesforce and Drupal a plus
Compensation/Benefits: 

Periodic overtime is required during certain periods of the year or month (particularly at issue closings, 6 times/year). Overtime hours will rarely exceed 10 hours weekly or an average of 20 hours on a monthly basis (over 4-6 week period).
