We are seeking a Director of Clinical Services for our West Contra Costa Y in Richmond that strives to make a positive difference in the community.

These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for association-wide behavioral health and mental health programs operated by the YMCA of the East Bay. These programs currently include: The Y-Team Counseling Program; Y-Team Trainee Program; and West Contra Costa Children’s Collaborative.

This role shall be primarily a supervisory position providing leadership, supervision, and training to program staff who administer the programs; ensuring that program evaluation occurs; funding monitoring and compliance; marketing the programs; serving as a liaison with funding sources; ensuring the expansion and sustainability of the program; improving the quality of service; and providing regular program updates to the President/CEO and Board of Directors.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead the planning, growth and operations of assigned programs and is responsible for the overall success of the programs
  • Supervise Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Staff, selected interns, Teen Parent Program Staff, YMEC Staff, and Administrative Team in services including individual and group counseling, case management, advocacy, family counseling, information and referral services, assessments, and crisis counseling. Train, direct, guide, coach, evaluate, support, and manage performance of assigned staff.
  • Develop an excellent relationship with the County Contractor including regular meetings and communication and attend all required County-sponsored meetings
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by the County
  • Design and implement evaluation of the Mental Health Programs in accordance with County contract and stated performance objectives and ensure that all contractual obligations for delivery of service are met per the County Contract
  • Monitor achievement of project outcome goals and objectives and ensure program evaluation including data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Support the writing of grants and develop other resources to increase and sustain program services
Educational Background: 
Master's Degree required in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology; Clinical License required (LCSW, LMFT, PsyD), 2 years minimum with ability to provide clinical supervision
Skills/Experience: 
  • 8 years related experience in a non-profit or human services setting
  • Experience with school-based integrated services and/or collaborative services
  • Experience developing and managing program budgets
  • A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families
  • Experience in collaborative meeting facilitation, problem solving, and team building
  • Strong interpersonal and supervision skills of a diverse, highly-skilled workforce
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Grant writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job
