The YMCA of the East Bay is looking for a Branch Director for the Hilltop Family YMCA in Richmond, CA.

The YMCA of the East Bay, one of the largest YMCA’s in the country, located in the San Francisco Bay Area and headquartered in Oakland, California is looking for a Branch Director for the Hilltop Family YMCA in Richmond, CA.

The Branch Director is directly responsible for the effectiveness and success of the Hilltop Family YMCA branch, its facilities and operations, and fundraising. Success in the role will require strong leadership and a focus on membership development, community and member relationship building, and excellent management acumen.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead the planning, growth and operations of the Hilltop Family YMCA membership and programs and supervise leadership staff
  • Plan, review and evaluate services and scheduling related to designated programs and the membership department
  • Establish performance standards based on objectives for key staff in designated areas
  • Implement Branch Marketing and Membership Retention Program
  • Provide leadership with branch-wide promotional efforts and special events
  • Leads branch member engagement strategies to ensure that a high performance, member-centric culture of outstanding service is in place, ensure employees are fully on-boarded and engaged to serve the members/participants and meet or exceed retention goals
  • Assist in Association Membership Marketing campaigns and recruitment of members. Promote innovative program and/or membership growth.
  • Assist with development of Association strategic plan
  • Develop, monitor and manage budgets for all designated areas
  • Maintain accurate records for all employees, income and expenses for designated areas
  • Develop preventative safety maintenance plan for all designated areas
  • Responsible for conducting regular facility inspections and ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of all facility and equipment related to program areas
  •  Assist in planning and operations of the Annual Campaign
  • Recruit and develop volunteer committees and assist with the branch board and volunteers
  • Attend appropriate trainings and meetings as identified by supervisor to enhance professional development
  • Develop and maintain positive public relations and provide excellent customer service to all program participants, members, and the community
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in business administration/human services or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 4 years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • 6 years of program development or Member Services experience
  • Fiscal management; staff management and development; and volunteer development
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a highly matrixed, team environment to achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to think conceptually, analyze and solve problems, and demonstrate assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job
