The Executive Director is responsible for connecting with all 23 YMCA Associations within the Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana cohort of YMCA’s to build capacity to impact local communities and carry out the Y mission and cause. The position is responsible for the effective execution of Y-USA key deliverables per agreement with Y-USA including: building the organizational capacity of individual YMCAs; building strong networks to provide opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and support; developing Alliance infrastructure; forming collaborations to advance the strategic goals of the Alliance; and advocating and advancing each states legislative priorities.
Provide strategic services to and build organizational capacity of Ys in a designated portfolio for the Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas Cohort of YMCAs
Lead, Facilitate, & Support:
- Strategic planning
- Board governance
- Early intervention for struggling YMCAs
- Shared Services/Management Agreements/Mergers
- Networking & relationship building
Develop Alliance Infrastructure for Impact and Sustainability Through:
- Development and implementation of goals in the Alliance Strategic Plan
- Fiscal management to achieve goals and ensure sustainability
- Guidance of Board and assurance that the Alliance meets all state and federal regulations as well as grantee requirements of YUSA
- Identification and development of strategic alliances to meet goals
Provide direction and supervision of the Director of Public Policy and Program Initiatives to accomplish the following:
- Advocacy for the Oklahoma State Alliance
- Support of Arkansas and Louisiana YMCAs advocacy as requested
- Program initiatives development and implementation for the State of Oklahoma
- Resources identified and secured to fund Oklahoma initiatives
Assist in implementation of, support and guide:
- CEO Search Assistance
- CEO/CVO Onboarding
- Organizational Leadership certification required or achieved within three years
- 5 or more years' experience leading or consulting in non-profit environments
- Skilled and experienced in Performance Consulting Methodology
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Extensive background developing and delivering strategic processes in core essential functions
- Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Possess a proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrates strong leadership competencies such as developing self and others, resource development, collaboration and functional expertise.
