The Office of Strategy, Operations & Innovation (OSOI) seeks a Senior Managing Director (SMD), Change Management, Training & Communications to support critical change management, training and communication needs for the Talent & Operations (T&O) portfolio. As SMD, Change Management, Training & Communications, you will partner with T&O strategic service and support teams (Finance, Human Assets, Information Technology, National Administration, Legal Affairs, and Risk & Compliance) to ensure that TFA staff receive trainings, communications, and resources from T&O teams that are relevant, user-centered, impact-oriented, and timely. In addition, you will ensure that major changes in T&O policies, processes, systems, services, and/or supports are rolled out in a manner that will maximize their overall impact across the organization. Furthermore, you will help define and oversee relevant structures, communication channels, standards, and knowledge management to support the T&O portfolio in meeting its overarching priorities and simultaneously ensuring a strong end-user experience.
This role will require identifying areas of opportunity, implementing strong strategies to advance communication and training effectiveness, and bringing to bear expertise in change management, adult learning theory, and training to ensure all TFA staff have the information they need to do their jobs successfully and maximize their individual impact. The ideal candidate for this role is entrepreneurial, strategic, creative, thrives in ambiguity, and builds relationships quickly. The SMD, Change Management, Training & Communications will report directly to the VP, Strategy, Operations & Innovation and Chief of Staff to the EVP, Talent, Operations & CFO and will be part of the OSOI Leadership Team and T&O Senior Leadership Group (T&O SLG).
(50%) Source, identify, and contribute to and/or oversee execution of critical T&O portfolio change management, training & communications projects
- Leverage data and stakeholder perspectives to source critical projects related to change management, training and communications needs for the T&O portfolio
- Oversee the development of an intake and prioritization system to help in the selection of highest-impact projects
- Track project progress as well as identify and address barriers and challenges to ensure work is on time, high-quality, and meeting expectations and end user needs
- Partner with SMD, Strategy & Innovation to ensure effective change management of new initiatives being driven by OSOI
- Drive the design and creation of exemplary training resources and communications on a variety of topics, using a variety of media
- Deliver training via recorded sessions, webinars, and live sessions
(30%) Oversee the creation and implementation of effective structures, communication channels, standards, and knowledge management
- Identify, define, and oversee relevant communication channels and “super user” communities (both internal and external to T&O)
- Oversee effective maintenance of T&O staff-facing resources like the TFA Hub, FAQs, trainings, etc. with a goal to improve the overall user experience
- Lead overarching knowledge management for the T&O portfolio (i.e. ensure resources and communications are updated taking into account recurring questions from staff, leverage survey data to identify new resource needs, etc.)
- Create standards/governance processes for key areas that require better coordination across T&O teams
- As needed, oversee the creation and execution of mechanisms to support coordination across the T&O portfolio (e.g. slack channel, T&O groups with similar critical stakeholders, etc.)
(10%) Serve as a model manager and coach to the Director, Change Management, Training & Communications
- Align on clear goals and key performance indicators for the year and each quarter
- Engage in ongoing conversations about performance and complete an end-of-year performance review
- Coach and develop Director, Change Management, Training & Communications as needed
(10%) Serve as an effective org-wide steward and team contributor
- Engage as an active participant and contributor to the T&O SLG, OSOI Leadership Team, and other cross-functional spaces as needed
- Collaborate with change management, training, and communications experts across the T&O portfolio and org as relevant
- Ensure OSOI team compliance with administrative processes like timesheet submission, AMEX, etc.

- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Past experience in change management, knowledge management, and/or adult learning preferred
- Fluency in a variety of communication and training tools and platforms
- Experience with human-centered design a plus
- Familiarity with TFA and T&O policies, processes, systems, services, and supports a plus

- Strong organization and project management skills; ability to manage large volumes of work and juggle multiple projects at once
- Solid reasoning and strategic thinking; ability to recommend solutions that are data driven, conceptually strong, and operationally plausible
- Comfort producing advanced written and visual communications in a variety of different formats including PowerPoint presentations, video, pre-recorded trainings, etc.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex information and processes to diverse audiences

Work Demands
