The Global Human Resources (HR) Division of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the full-time position of Senior Coordinator to help assist with HRW’s operations in over 60 locations around the world, particularly with consultancy and staff mobility. This position reports to the Associate Director based in New York.
- Oversee all matters relating to consultancies globally, including liaising with staff (hiring managers, finance team, local counsel, office administrators), assessing classification, and drafting contracts;
- Liaise effectively with HRW staff in headquarters and offices located outside HQ to ensure effective coordination of pre-hire and consultancy activities;
- Maintain, update, and ensure accuracy of consultant files and employee records in the Human Resources Management System;
- Assist in the drafting and processing of contracts and hire letters;
- Coordinate, track and liaise on relocation issues for existing staff, including insurance coverage, payroll changes, tax documents, employment contracts, etc.;
- Create reports and extract and analyze data to provide effective data reporting;
- Assist with reviewing policies and procedures pertaining to recruitment and consultancies; and
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
- A minimum of three years of HR experience in an international setting, particularly in recruitment.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all level of staff within the organization are required.
- Ability to work well under pressure, while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously under minimal supervision, is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required; proficiency in another language is desirable.
- Ability to make sound decisions consistent with functions is required.
- Strong computer knowledge including Windows, MS Office applications, and HR Management Systems is required.
- Experience drafting or editing contracts is highly desirable.
