Recruitment and Operations Assistant - Telemarketing

This position sits within the Telemarketing Team and reports to the Telemarketing Coordinating Manager. The Telemarketing Team is part of the Development Department and is responsible for recruiting and developing monthly donors to support Amnesty International USA’s (AIUSA) human rights work by phoning existing and potential supporters and soliciting support.

The Development Department has an ambitious fundraising growth plan to maximize the amount of money raised for human rights work. The Recruitment and Operations Assistant plays a key role in achieving this plan by supporting our in-house telemarketing team with recruitment and operations.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Recruitment/Onboarding

  • Post recruitment ads and monitor responses on a different website, making recommendations for ways to improve the size and quality of applicant pool.
  • Schedule and conduct phone screenings with potential telemarketers.
  • Work with Telemarketing Coordinating Manager to standardize recruitment process.
  • Ensure all interviews (both phone and in-person) are appropriately documented and learnings can be used for future decision making.
  • Work with the Director of Monthly Giving and Telemarketing Coordinating Manager to develop systems to streamline the recruitment process.
  • Develop plans to ensure that the Telemarketing Team is consistently fully staffed.
  • Work with Telemarketing Coordinating Manager & Human Resources to ensure all new hires are appropriately onboarded.
  • Work with HR to ensure benefits are appropriately allocated.

Office Operations

  • Work with IT department to ensure equipment is working/updated and feedback any issues that need to be resolved.
  • Troubleshoot minor IT issues and where appropriate escalate to the IT Manager
  • Ensure office has appropriate supplies
  • Coordinate with office management as/when issues arise.
  • Support the Telemarketing Coordinating Manager to organize team building/morale-boosting activities.
  • Support Telemarketing Coordinating Manager with administrative tasks related to the phone team including writing and vetting new scripts and managing data within the dialing software.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties or projects delegated by the line manager which are in line with the responsibilities of the post.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a telemarketing team.  
  • Experience working to improve systems & processes.
  • Experience using data to drive results.  
  • Ability to use Excel, Word & PowerPoint
