The Manager will oversee the planning and execution of strategy regarding the Mid-Level donor program at Audubon, including donor cultivation and stewardship. The Manager will serve as the main point of contact for donors in the Mid-Level program This position will report to the Director, Direct Response Marketing.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Serve as the organization's contact for Mid-Level donors, giving high-quality member care via phone and/or email. Provide high-end service, answer any questions and serve as a "concierge" for the donors in the program.
- Plan and execute direct marketing campaigns (including but not limited to mail, telemarketing and email) in line with the program's strategic and revenue goals.
- Oversee day-to-day production of campaigns, with assistant from outside vendors and internal support, and make certain mail/send dates are met.
- Develop and execute donor engagement and cultivation calendar including organizing special calls, events or invitations for Mid-Level audience as needed.
- Identify donors for upgrade to Mid-Level program working with internal and external analytic and modeling resources.
- Work with Development on process for identifying downgrades from Major Gifts and process for upgrading Mid-Level donors to Major Gifts
- Ensure data processing and audience segmentation is correct and clean for all campaigns.
- Track expenses to budget, and work with VP and Director to ensure revenue goals are met.
- Prepare reports and financial analyses as needed.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a closely related field preferred. Equivalent experience also considered.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in direct marketing, philanthropy or development. Project management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects with varying deadlines, with many stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Customer service or donor care experience is preferred.
- Budget and reporting experience a plus.
- Must have excellent problem solving skills.
- Experience managing relationships with agencies and outside partners.
- Salesforce and Every Action experience a plus; CRM experience required (RaisersEdge, TA, Blackbaud, etc.).
- Strong communication skills.

- Previous non-profit experience preferred
- An interest in conservation, birds and/or birding not required but strongly preferred.
