Manager, Digital Analytics

As the Manager of Digital Analytics, you are responsible for building a digital data center of truth for Teach For America. This includes partnering with stakeholders from across many different lines of business to develop KPIs and data collection strategies in order to deliver reports and analyses that drive insights. The digital experience at Teach For America includes several different constituent audiences and utilizes different digital strategies for each one. In order to be an effective partner in this role, you must have deep curiosity and strong communication skills in order to develop a clear understanding of partner needs, often needing to identify the unspoken functional need behind a partner’s request. You must be able to skillfully build dashboards, reports, and robust analyses with clear next steps and recommendations.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Integrate data across multiple systems (Business Objects, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Pardot)
  • Thoroughly inspect and verify data quality at every stage of reporting and through every source
  • Clean, manipulate, and analyze data using different systems (Excel, Google Analytics)
  • Design and produce reports, dashboards, and analyses that present information in a way that maximizes insight and action for end users using a suite of visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) with an eye toward automation
  • Identify inefficiencies in current reporting methods and make recommendations to optimize
  • Scale Marketing and Communications reporting and analysis across 53 regional teams
  • Develop data literacy across staff by providing trainings and professional development for data stakeholders in non-data-specialist roles
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for emerging projects, campaigns, and initiatives
  • Develop and implement a data tracking practice across all digital channels in order to track campaign metrics accurately and consistently
  • Develop KPIs for different channels across a broad range of constituencies in order to measure and assess effectiveness and impact of platforms and campaigns – includes developing synthetic measures
  • Work with different channel leads, enterprise business intelligence partners, and external vendors in order to establish marketing needs and collaborative workflow across different lines of business
  • Represent the Marketing and Communications Team in cross-functional round tables to share and collaborate on best practices with org-wide tech tools such as Business Objects and Power BI
  • Conduct A/B testing and analysis to maximize campaigns and display optimization
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five years or more experience in Marketing Research or Analytics, with 2 years working in digital analytics preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience working with large data sets

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel 2-4 times per year
  • Occasional evenings and weekends

Skills

  • Advanced skills in Excel and Access with strong skills in Macro development, VBA, and pivot tables, as well as experience with presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote) is required
  • Extensive experience working with a digital analytics suite (Google Analytics 360 Suite, Adobe Analytics, etc) is required
  • Strong experience and capability building dashboards using best-in-class BI data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) required
  • Statistical programming (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) and database querying (e.g., SQL) required. Business Objects and Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Experience working with a tag management solution (e.g. Google Tag Manager) preferred
  • Ability to write regular expressions (Regex) and Python scripting preferred
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Capable of communicating clearly across all teams and levels of the organization
  • Unrelentingly thorough eye for detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to step back from data and see the broader context and impact of an analysis
  • Ability to engage openly and transparently with partners in order to understand their broader insights needs beyond their initial data request
  • Ability to work through obstacles, ambiguity, and personal lines of business to maintain focus and deliver outcomes
  • Mindset of a constant learner eager to master new skills at a high level
