Manager, AmeriCorps Partnerships Team

We seek a Manager of AmeriCorps Partnerships to join the Public Partnerships team in developing the internal relationships, systems, tools, and resources to support regions to effectively secure and manage AmeriCorps grants. In particular, you will update, design, and drive processes for 53 regions to ensure 100% of our 6500+ AmeriCorps members clear background checks, submit about 20 pieces of required documentation, and generally follow the federal laws required. You have a passion for working on processes at scale, focus on clear, measurable outcomes, are obsessed with accuracy and efficiency, have an unshakeable orientation towards customer-service, and love project planning. You also understand that developing and managing complex systems at scale requires relationships and a deep understanding of how the organization operates. 

AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), a federal agency established to encourage and enable Americans to give back to their communities and the nation. Teach For America has been a part of AmeriCorps since its founding in 1994. Since that time, Teach For America has received over $40 million in operating support and education awards from AmeriCorps. The Manager of AmeriCorps Partnership will report directly to the Managing Director of AmeriCorps Partnerships.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Organizational Compliance & Systems, as required by AmeriCorps regulations, and partnering with other ACPT staff, the Technology Team, the Admissions Team, and others:
    • Update, manage, and if necessary, redesign internal tools and protocols to ensure all AmeriCorps members are enrolled and exited accurately, in a timely manner.
    • Manage Teach For America’s centralized processes for ensuring all AmeriCorps members complete and pass background checks
    • Manage systems to ensure required processes are followed if a member exits early or transfers.
  • Regional Support and Coaching:
    • Manage a portfolio of 20+ regions to follow all AmeriCorps requirements by acting as a strategic thought-partner, coach, and in-house AmeriCorps expert.
    • Support development and management of compliance tracking and reporting.
    • Support regional AmeriCorps manager staff onboarding and onboarding
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • Teach For America experience highly preferred
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships and influencing others to achieve goals and execute complex projects

Work Demands

  • Some weekend and evening work required
  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities regularly
