NRDC is seeking a Summer Intern to work with the IT team in our NY office. This full-time summer internship is a paid internship that will last until the middle of August. This person will assist network engineers to continue the smooth operation of our servers and networking equipment. The intern will update our internal servers using SCCM, will add network devices into PRTG (NRDC’s networking platform), will read daily reports from Kaspersky our antivirus platform and react to incidents, update our Ironports should there be updates available, and work to assist IT in order to deploy Cisco phones at NRDC among other duties.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Apply Microsoft updates to our servers using SCCM
  • Update our Cisco Ironports
  • Add new network devices into PRTG NRDC’s network monitoring platform
  • Read and react to daily Kaspersky reports
  • Assist IT in deploying Cisco phones
  • Write documentation
  • Check Veeam backups
  • Wipe configuration from decommissioned Cisco firewalls
  • Add devices into LiveAction
  • Work to return Noveda back to service
Educational Background: 
Computer science, computer or electrical engineering major
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft networking
