We will be opening a new state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot YMCA at 430 Westchester Avenue in the South Bronx and are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Executive Director of the La Central YMCA. This role will be focused on ensuring the delivery of quality services to tens of thousands of residents each year and fostering community engagement for the young, the old, and everyone in between.
La Central YMCA will offer a range of programs serving youth and teens to older adults, including healthy lifestyles, afterschool programs, civic engagement programming for youth, swimming instructional classes and social, recreational, and health programming for older adults.
The Executive Director would be responsible for the overall operation of the Branch including, 100+ employees and a budget of $2.5 million. They would initiate and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, neighborhood leaders and donors. In addition, the Executive Director is expected to collaborate with other community youth organizations to deliver a full range of youth and teen programs.
- Qualified applicants must have experience working with a Board of Managers, supervising government contracts, managing fund-raising campaigns, developing strong relationships with community leaders, strategic planning, staff leadership/development and have a proven record of successful fiscal management.
- 5-10 years of successful operational and management experience; at an executive level.
- Proven track record of successful fund-raising experience.
- Budget management experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
