The Digital Communication Specialist  is responsible for a wide range of communication activities focusing on NAPNAP membership as well as external audiences. This will support initiatives outlined in the annual communications and marketing plan by informing, supporting and engaging current, lapsed and prospective members.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Social Media
    • Manage and optimize a multi-channel communications strategy over social media platforms
    • Maintain the social media calendar that balances multiple organization projects
    • Stay abreast of new social media trends and platforms and determine if/how NAPNAP can utilize
    • Execute TeamPeds Experts Live, a monthly live Facebook session where member experts engage with followers on a hot topic in pediatric health care
    • Produce metric reports as requested
  • Creative Assets
    • Design digital and print creative assets for organization to use across all platforms, including the website, email marketing, social media, digital ads and infographics
  • Digital Communications
    • Collaborate with MarComm team to develop effective communications targeted to select member and non-member segments based on available data, including email and automated email campaigns, e-newsletter, association statements
    • Pitch, write and coordinate press releases for association activities including publications and research; respond to media inquiries and consult with director on spokespeople or news source
    • Monitor communication trends and supports adapting communications accordingly
    • Collaborate with MarComm team on editorial calendar items
  • Member Engagement
    • Manage the association’s student ambassador program, a membership peer to peer marketing effort among students
    • Monitor e-communities, email responses and social media posts to provide association-related information and resources
    • Collaborate with MarComm and Membership team to develop strategies and campaigns for membership recruitment, engagement, and retention
  • Web Content Management
    • Develop and edit webpages using WordPress platform
    • Ensure that all webpages include current and accurate content and formatting, including SEO
  • Marketing
    • Collaborate with MarComm team to develop strategies and campaigns for conference, events and educational product marketing
  • Other duties as assigned based upon the business needs of the association
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years’ experience in communications, with focus on social media and email:
  • Informz or similar automated email platform
  • Social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Proficiency in design programs: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher; Canvas  
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our business' various types of content and audiences
  • Proficient in editing and proofreading written materials consistent with AP style guide as well as the rules of English grammar are required
  • Experience with membership database use/query a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and members
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects at once
  • Strong initiative to handle projects with remote supervision
Compensation/Benefits: 
  • $55K - $66K per year
