AARP Media Sales is a New York City-based multimedia advertising sales and marketing division of AARP Services Inc. AARP Media Sales’ mission is to support AARP’s social mission by generating revenue across AARP’s media properties through advertising and sponsorship sales--primarily in AARP’s print, digital and emerging media channels.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Utilize Krux software to research audience trends, suggest optimization opportunities for current advertisers and offer insight on plans for new advertisers.
  • Create detailed post campaign analysis reports for account managers
  • Pull and edit weekly campaign performance reports for client to see performance totals and average
  • Represents AARP Media Sales in Email Channel related meetings.
  • Monitor weekly performance and delivery of all New York and Washington DC territory campaigns totaling less than $50,000 in annual revenue
  • Make Pacing and Optimizing recommendations on New York and Washington DC territory campaigns totaling less than $50,000 in annual revenue
  • Utilize digital sales tools such as DFP, DSM, Salesforce to create opportunities for account managers, monitor campaigns and suggest optimizations to clients, Account managers and media planner
  • Answer incoming advertising inquiries
  • Assist account managers in the completion of RFPs
  • Prepare media reports and research including bi weekly action reports
  • Assist Account Execs in following up to ensure timely payment processing
  • Monitor Dedicated Email campaign timelines, proactively engaging creative/other stakeholders to ensure completion of deadlines.
  • Works with advertisers, sales reps, and internal teams to provide future Dedicated Email quantities/availability based off of custom targeting criteria.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • The candidate will be an energetic self-starter with excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to multi-task and interact with clients and upper management in a professional manner and have sales and/or media sales experience.
