As the Data Analyst you will be responsible for helping the Insights & Yield Management team turn data into actionable insights that will help to improve the performance of Teach For America’s marketing channels, web platforms, social networks, and emails. As part of a team focused on driving measurable traffic to Teach For America’s properties and optimizing marketing activities to serve user needs, you will be dedicated to helping the Marketing and Communications team to understand the value of data and to use it in an actionable manner.

The Data Analyst is responsible for establishing and delivering support to the Insights & Yield Management team in their measurement, traffic, and intelligence efforts. You will work with other members of the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that the team has the insight they need to utilize data in the most effective way possible.
- Auditing and augmenting the insights & yield management strategy to make sure Teach For America is able to turn regional data into insights, ensuring that these insights are informed by the expertise of colleagues in technology, content, user experience, and design
- Co-create and maintain dashboards that provide timely intelligence back to regional stakeholders with support from the Managing Director of Traffic
- Maintain a process for ensuring all regional web, email, and social data is properly tracked
- Improve the mapping of measurements to user data within Teach For America’s CRM (Salesforce) with the goal of increasing the ability to provide meaningful analysis
- Collaborate with members of the insights team on timelines, priorities, and investments
- Advocate for any new technologies including measurement packages, dashboards, and other tools that will support regions
- Ensure Integration team members know how to use data to optimize their efforts, including conducting trainings, presentations, and workshops to evangelize for smart data collection and optimization
- Present regional data and insights within the digital marketing organization
- Work with and inspire cross-functional teams to advance digital thinking and best practices, improving the way we work to achieve goals using measurement strategies
- Be an influential voice for best practices in SEO, SEM, paid ads, and paid social and be passionate about the role evolving technology can play in providing value to users
- Advocate for and operate under an agile/Lean UX environment with confidence
- 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing at an agency, not-for-profit, or in a complex corporate context with a large national or multi-national organization; experience at an organization with a regional or distributed model preferred
- A background in quantitative and qualitative research is a plus
- Experience working with software engineers, data analysts, content strategists, designers, and project managers preferred
Work Demands
- National travel for in-person meetings as needed (approximately 2 times per year); occasional weekend and evening work expected.
Skills
- Expertise in a wide variety of measurement, data collection, and analysis methodologies
- Working knowledge or experience with Google Analytics is required; experience with Salesforce, Tableau, Pardot, Radian6, Facebook for Business or Adwords is a plus
- A demonstrated understanding of the different specialist skill sets that are required to deliver the right content, at the right time, to the right channel
- A track record of developing successful measurement and insight strategies for organizations across multiple channels, at scale, over the course of multiple content cycles
- Exceptional presentation skills
- An understanding of marketing and digital strategy principles preferred
