As Business Analyst – Enterprise Business Intelligence, you will serve as the product owner of our multiplatform Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) program. You will own the vision and direction for the component products in our EBI environment, including but not limited to SAP Business Objects and Microsoft Power BI, and ensuring that the program evolves along with our business needs. You will also support additional IT initiatives and best practices as needed.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about data analysis and data quality, and will have experience with database management.
The Business Analyst reports to the Managing Director, Business Analysis and is part of our IT Solutions team.
As a Business Analyst and Product Owner, you will:
- Participate in the Scrum team assigned to EBI development
- Serve as part of the project leadership team, along with the Scrum Master and technical lead
- Create and maintain the Product Backlog, prioritizing and sequencing the component user stories according to business value
- Coordinate inputs and tasks required of other business analysts and business stakeholders
- Develop product roadmap and communicate project status
- Contribute to compliance efforts as needed
- Contribute to research & development efforts to maintain a standard of growth and innovation
- Manage relationships with the partner team reporting & analytics stakeholders and their assigned BAs, across the following functions: Development, Recruitment, Admissions, Finance, Marketing, Org-Wide Learning & Strategy, Human Assets
- At least 5 years of relevant job experience, including some work in database management
- Developing mastery of – or willingness to learn - the discipline of business analysis, including but not limited to elicitation, requirements management and communication, enterprise analysis, requirements analysis, and solution assessment and validation
- Has a track record of planning and executing technology projects successfully
- Works effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Is the IT team authority on business intelligence
- An internal consultant mindset: able to structure problems independently; cut to the heart of complex topics; identify tactical solutions; find connections across disparate themes
- Able to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced work environment
- Flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to new information and evolving business needs
- Experience with SQL and principles of object-oriented design
- Is capable of leading root cause analysis across interdependent business processes, disparate data sources, and multiple modes of data integration
