As the Atlassian Tools Administrator, you will serve as the technical lead on the design, development, and maintenance of our Atlassian and related ITSM applications. You will partner with the ITSM tools product owner, business analysts, and directly with our partner teams to develop solutions based on business requirements. You will also be responsible for creating policies and governance for Jira configurations to support sustainable growth and delegated project administration. 

This is a hands-on administrative role and you will perform functions ranging from simple screen configurations in Jira, defining complex Service Desk workflows and post functions, to setting up automated integrations with multiple external systems.  You will be the technical subject-matter expert on Atlassian tools and partner with the ITSM team to provide high-quality support services to Teach For America. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

60% of time

  • Participate in Atlassian Jira Service Desk migration project – During Migration 60%
    • Migrate from ServiceNow to Jira Service Desk
  • Build, configure, and maintain all aspects of Jira Service Desk, Insight CMDB, Jira Software, Confluence, and all plugins based on business requirements – Post Migration 60%
    • Maintain existing plugins such as Extension, Team Calendars, Zephyr, and Gliffy
    • Evaluate requests for and install new plugins
    • Build and maintain integrations with Bitbucket, Workday, Azure DevOps, Slack, and other IT tools

40% of time

  • Collaborate with IT and business partners to gather requirements to meet business needs
  • Propose and manage Atlassian tools governance and configuration improvements as a technical lead
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proven experience with configuration and administration of Jira Software or Jira Service Desk
  • Ability to tailor approach toward the perspective of others
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivation to identify areas of improvement
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize competing requests, project work, and support
  • Understand technology operations and agile software development methods
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Work Demands

  • This position is located on site in our New York National office
  • Occasional weekend or evening hours required

Education/Certifications

  • At least 1 of the following certifications: ACP-100, ACP-200, ACP-400, ACP-500
  • ITIL Foundations certification or demonstrated knowledge of ITIL practices
