The West Side YMCA is seeking an Associate Executive Director who assist the Executive Director with the overall operation of the West Side YMCA including 550 employees, 5,171 adult member unites and a budget of $23 million. The incumbent will be responsible for the management of a program portfolio including Membership, Aquatics, Healthy Living, Youth & Family, Arts Programs including the Little Theater and operations. In addition, the Associate Executive Director will provide support with communications, community relations, board development, fundraising and fiscal management.
- Ensure programs and services are conducted in accordance with YMCA of Greater New York Strategic Priorities and in accordance with branch plan.
- Supervise Membership, Healthy Lifestyles, Aquatics, Youth & Family, Arts & Theater Department heads and approves staff performance evaluations.
- Develop, manage and evaluate financial plans and budgets for all departments.
- Oversee government contracts and ensures that all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Provide leadership to Program/Management team meetings.
- Attend all board meetings and provides leadership to assigned volunteer committees.
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications as well as the Fund Development Director to establish strategies for promotion and expansion of the branch’s programs/services within the community.
- Provide leadership to the Annual Campaign and other branch fundraising events.
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate program staff and volunteers. Ensure that staff receive appropriate training that is consistent with professional goals.
- Serve as staff liaison to committees (as assigned) of the branch Board of Managers.
- Adhere to all Department of Health, YMCA of Greater New York, and funder standards, expectations, and regulations.
- Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.
- Minimum five years successful operational and management experience in a high volume urban setting.
- Proven record of successful fiscal management.
- Knowledge of Government funding.
- Knowledge of Public Health approach and initiatives.
- Solid computer skills with knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual, a plus.
Salary: $69,908.80 - $97,864.00
