NRDC is seeking an Assistant Director, Donor Systems – Data Management to work with the Development team in our New York office. Under the direction of the Director of Donor Systems, and in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Donor Systems – Gift Processing, this position will be responsible for managing the Data Management team within Donor Systems. The Data Management team works primarily with the Development CRM, Salesforce, providing training and maintaining instructional documentation for department users, assisting with any questions or issues regarding the tool, and handling reporting requests and data integrity within the system. The team also works closely with the CRM team to build and improve the platform for Development, engaging with stakeholders across the department to design business process and logic for use in technology development. This position will contribute to the implementation of standards and best practices that will foster user adoption and ensure data integrity within Salesforce and aid the Director in liaising, as appropriate, with a variety of other internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Finance, CRM, IT, implementation consultants, managed services providers, and other units within Development.
- Oversees a team of three systems professionals:
- Set forth goals and performance expectations and hold team accountable
- Address opportunities for career growth and knowledge building on team
- Actively address performance issues
- Manages data and reporting for financial, moves management, and membership purposes
- In collaboration with CRM, manages Cases related to Development including, report and training requests and other items such as enhancement requests
- Oversight of data architecture that supports complex business process and reporting functions
- Works collaboratively with other business units in Development to build and support business process and functionality
- Work with consultants on implementation of database conversion and extensions as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- At least 5 years related experience
- Managerial experience preferred
- Direct experience with Salesforce preferred
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Understanding of systems thinking
- Strong knowledge of Development practices and terminology
- Knowledge of fundamentals of nonprofit finance as it relates to fundraising tracking and reporting
