The Communications Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting the VP, Communications and the Communications Department. This position will coordinate with other staff in the organization, create materials such as power points to support leadership, project manage material creation as well as manage calendars, travel and expenses.
Reports to the Vice President, Communications.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage VP, Communications calendar and group meeting logistics;
- With leadership from VP, Communications create power points, one-pagers and other materials for external presentations for CEO, Chief Network Officer, and VP, Communications;
- Manage invoices, billing, expenses and vendor contracts for communications team;
- Assist with production of internal all staff and board meetings;
- Serve as project manager for key comms projects as assigned.
Educational Background:
Associate’s degree required, bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Skills/Experience:
- 2 - 4 years of office support, project management or similar required
- Must have excellent presentation and writing skills, with experience writing for a variety of voices and channels, as well as the ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to interact comfortably with a broad spectrum within the organization to gain consensus.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other key Microsoft Office, SharePoint and other web-based products.
- Must have strong customer service skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to reason through issues and resolve problems while working efficiently under time constraints.
- Strong ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without authority across all levels and functions. Ability to work independently, as well as, part of a team.
- A strong commitment to the mission, values, and programs of the National Audubon Society
- Adobe creative suite experience preferred.
