The Accounting Associate will assist in processing of accounts payable, help prepare bank reconciliations, attend to bank deposits and provide accounting support to the Finance & Accounting team. We are looking for a productive, ambitious, energetic individual with a hands-on approach, who works well in a team environment. Someone who is willing to learn at the entry level from an experienced team of non-profit accounting professionals

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Reviews invoices and expense reports submitted within the SAP Concur workflow platform, resolves any coding discrepancies, and assist in the processing of weekly disbursement payments by wire/check/ACH.
  • Ensures the accuracy of vendor records, executes follow up routine, and maintains up to date information on all vendor accounts.
  • Reconciles the bank accounts, prepares journal entries for chargeback and bank initiated entries, and deposits checks received in-house using a remote deposit capture terminal. Low to moderate volumes.
  • Maintains the petty cash account and oversees the collection of unpaid advances and employee receivable accounts. Low activity levels.
  • Works on ad hoc projects and implements streamlined processes to improve efficiency and eliminate duplication.
  • Provides accounting and clerical assistance to Finance & Accounting including help with reclassification entries.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Educational Background: 
BA/BS required or equivalency relevant in work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Prior experience in Accounting and an office setting preferred but not necessary
  • Willingness and ability to learn in this entry-level position
