Manager, Prospect Research

Reporting to the Director of Prospect Research, the role of Manager of Prospect Research is to directly assist the Director in the improvement and management of NRDC’s prospect research department, but also to produce research on prospects.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Research prospects including those recommended by the research team and those recommended by Development staff and NRDC leadership with the goal of supporting donor upgrades and new prospect development.
  • Conduct proactive research to ensure that NRDC trips and events support donor upgrades and new prospect development.
  • Assist in the development and management of a new research function in Salesforce, including data selection and management.
  • Assist in the development and management of an improved system for ensuring that research output is trackable and that research is understood by, and accessible to, to applicable NRDC staff.
  • Help to train and mentor new research staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of direct prospect research experience including strong research skills and experience working with common prospect research databases.
  • Experience with cause-related fundraising a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, an ability to handle multiple assignments, and comfort with being proactive to complete assignments accurately and on time. Attention to detail and to prospect research department formatting is required.
  • A commitment to career development and professionalism and to the APRA Code of Ethics.
