Under the direction of the Controller, the Payroll Coordinator performs the electronic payroll processing for biweekly payroll. They are responsible for maintaining payroll records and accounting ledgers for all payroll functions. In addition, the incumbent will process all requests for payroll data; respond to employee questions; manage worker’s compensation claims; State and Federal reporting, payroll deduction disbursements/garnishments, year-end W2s and reports, as well as accounting assignments as determined by the Controller.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Serve as expert in Kronos Workforce Ready (WFR) system in all aspects of payroll, tax and year-end responsibilities.
- Process biweekly payroll for the Association.
- Prepare on demand checks as required.
- Issue pay-cards and direct deposit information as necessary for existing staff.
- Develop and maintain user guides for Kronos WFR.
- Calculate wage executions for payroll deductions.
- Prepare and maintain all payroll reports. Develop payroll reports for Management and branches as requested
- Manage worker’s compensation. File appropriate reports.
- Assist with Accounts Payable, purchasing card reconciliation and other Accounting duties per the Controller’s direction.
- Administration of paid-time-off.
- Reconciliation of outstanding checks as related to the unclaimed property laws.
- Cross train with finance staff in the areas of finance, fund development, grants and bank reconciliations.
- Support and assist with data entry, record management, background screenings and other duties related to the human resource department.
- Participate in meetings as directed by the Controller
- Assist Controller in meeting all goals of the department.
- All other duties that may be assigned.
- 3 or more years of previous payroll or related experience – required
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification – preferred
- Kronos Workforce Ready Software experience – highly preferred
- knowledge of nonprofit and/or YMCA operations
- Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills
- Strong math aptitude
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- Account reconciliation or other accounting experience – required
- Possess the ability to work well with others to ensure high quality results.
- Able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out position responsibilities.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are critical to the success of this position.

- Able to work a flexible work schedule if needed with advanced notice.
- Must be detail-oriented, confidentiality-conscious, and organized.

Salary: $45,760.00 - $52,000.00
