The New Castle Community YMCA in New Castle, PA is looking to hire a Membership Director!

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Membership Director is responsible for driving all membership acquisition, engagement, development, sales and retention to achieve stated goals, including increased member satisfaction, reduce member terminations and improve new member acquisition rates. This position also oversees the development, supervision, and administration of Member Service, Wellness Center and Drop-In Child Watch staff for the Association.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and leads Associations Member Service, Wellness, and Drop-In Child Watch Departments.
  • Directs and leads member acquisition development and satisfaction.
  • Organize membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
  • Develop and oversee the financial assistance process.
  • Develop and oversee data monitoring and reporting.
  • Actively support and engage in the Annual Campaign.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in customer service &/or sales or equivalent
  • YMCA experience is preferred
  • Experience with the Daxko system required
  • Completion of a Child Abuse and Criminal Background Check as well as the Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention training upon hire
  • CPR/First Aid Certification Training scheduled within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Continuous standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, moving about, and lifting furniture/furnishings.
  • Frequently bends, kneels, crouches.
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, legs, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, pushing, wiping.
  • Work schedule will include daytime, evening, and weekend hours and ability to travel to all program activity sites.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $36,000.00 - $42,000.00
