The Membership Director will manage all aspects of membership and the administrative operations of the Membership Department for the TWIN RIVERS YMCA.  This position will help to grow and develop membership, plan and administer all new/existing member programs, apply procedures and methods to achieve our strategic goals and membership/participant engagement.  Ensures that membership programs are aligned with the Y’s cause and meet the needs of our members and the community.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Implements membership strategies an processes that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. 
  • Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Applies a fair and equitable financial assistance proscess for all who apply.
  • Directs and supervises Membership activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.  Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. 
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.  Reviews and evaluates staff performance.  Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.  Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
  • Monitors daily membership operations
  • Develop, administer, and control the Membership department budget and take appropriate action to maintain the fiscal integrity of the department.
  • Respond to all member and community inquiries and concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Recruits volunteers for effective and efficient operation of YMCA programs.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
  • Complies Membership statistics and reports for committee review
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferedImplements membership strategies an processes that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building
Skills/Experience: 
  • History with sales and customer service
  • One to two years related experience required.
  • Knowledge of DAXKO helpful but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with programing and volunteer development
  • Experience with creating and managing a budget
  • Previous hiring, supervision and development of staff
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred
  • CPR - AED certified
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $36,015.00 - $45,018.00
