The Director of Financial Development will provide strategic leadership in all areas of financial development including, but not limited to, advancing the YMCA’s mission through the Annual Campaign, Heritage Club, Grant Writing, and Capital Campaigns. The New Director will work with and as part of the YMCA Leadership Team to achieve goals. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled relationship builder who can build on the existing strengths of our Financial Development initiatives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for managing, recruiting, and training of staff and volunteers in all phases of Financial Development ; developing and executing vision, policies, and procedures for the department
  • Responsible for being staff liaison to the Financial Development Committee, recruiting members, developing agenda, etc.
  • Responsible for planning, managing and the implementation of Capital Development and other special development initiatives while working with Board Leadership.
  • Responsible for planning, managing and the implementation of the Heritage Club  planned giving program and other special development activities while working with Board Leadership.
  • Responsible for planning, managing, and the implementation of the Annual Campaign and other special development initiatives while working with Board Leadership.
  • Serves as major gifts officer and maintains an active list of donor prospects for his/her personal cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Coordinates major gifts solicitations and ensures that he/she, the CEO, and Board Leadership maintain an active list of donor prospects for their personal cultivation,solicitation and stewardship.
  • Coordinates visits with major donors, prospects and friends of the Y.
  • Sets strategy for the planning of all annual recognition events for financial development.
  • Responsible for all Financial Development data management.
  • Works closely with the Marketing Director to sets strategy for the marketing, communication and development messages for all Development initiatives.
  • Working closely with the Marketing Director, coordinates financial development activities, sends correspondence, and communicates with the Board of Directors.
  • Sets strategy for the recognition program for all donors in consultation with the CEO and the Board Leadership.
  • Sets strategy for all campaign efforts including: case for giving, donor cultivation, donor recognition, volunteer recruitment, volunteer engagement.
  • Coordinates major gifts solicitations and ensures that the CEO and the Board leadership have appropriate strategies and collateral in place for solicitations
  • Sets vision for the Comprehensive Campaign working closely with CEO and Board leadership including meeting management and volunteer engagement.
  • Communicates regularly with campaign leadership and Board of Directors ensuring  strong information flow between the groups
  • Ensures that specific branch campaigns are in alignment with overall association strategies and that communication between branch efforts and association efforts are  well coordinated
  • Foundation and Grant writing expertise to assist and coordinate all grants.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by CEO
Educational Background: 
Baccalaureate undergraduate degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years of successful fundraising experience.
  •  Foundation and government grant writing expertise.
  • Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to relate to top community leader and diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • CFRE or equivalent preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $71,752.00 - $89,691.00
