The YMCA of Middle TN is searching for a cause-driven leader to serve as NAZA Operations Director in beautiful Nashville, TN!

Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff and Metro Government staff, under the supervision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee Senior Vice President of Youth Development, the NAZA Operations Director will support leadership, vision, and direction of NAZA (Nashville Afterschool Zone Alliance) and shall have the responsibility for attendance management systems, meals for program participants, data sharing, transportation, safety/emergency preparedness, fiscal management, and school relationships around facilities, transportation, and meals supporting the NAZA goals and initiatives for quality program delivery and desired outcomes.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Advocates for, and institutionalizes, inclusion and diversity throughout the organization with staff and volunteers in the development of an impact-based program culture
  • Represent the YMCA and NAZA with area schools, organizations, community leaders, businesses and other interested persons in the community for the purpose of building and/or and maintaining collaborative relationships that strengthen programs
  • Coordinates NAZA’s relationship with MNPS Department of Operations
  • Provides training/coaching/consultation for funded partners on attendance data system, transportation and meals
  • Provides training/coaching/consultation for affiliated partners on using attendance tracking system
  • Manages NAZA’s afterschool attendance tracking system, including online registration and on-line student check-in system, ensuring student attendance data for the entire system is up to date and accurate
  • Works with MNPS data office to match student data in MNPS data warehouse
  • Provides at least bi-annual student attendance rosters as verification of attendance for funded partners
  • Collects and provides information about access to meals and transportation across all funded sites at least once a year
  • Coordinates with the District allocation/assignment of afternoon and evening buses for afterschool programs across the city that NAZA funds as well as the availability of meals/snacks in school-based sites
  • Responsible for Data management including accuracy, quality, monitoring partners compliance with entry and sharing requirements
  • Conducts compliance checks in selected sites, ensures funded partners comply with NAZA requirements
  • Acts as a mediator between schools and afterschool providers in handling outstanding issues or complications in relationships that the two sites are unable to resolve without support
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) in administration, community development, education, child development, social work or any relevant area
Skills/Experience: 
  • Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
  • Superior supervisory skills and an enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, members and participants to create a culture of service within our program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Must be highly organized with ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the YMCA brand, programs and services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs, as well as ability to use most office equipment is required
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • At least 5 years of experience coordinating complex projects
  • Experience in coordinating work with Metro government and/or its departments
  • Experience in managing community relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience and ability to work with complex software, spreadsheets, and massive volume of student data
  • Experience in providing training and coaching
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $57,362.00 - $71,702.00
