Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Outreach Operations Executive Director, the Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the YMCA Latino Achievers Program. S/he will assist with the development of quality programs and provide supervision and guidance to program staff to ensure all specific duties are carried out successfully.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
- Advocates for, and institutionalizes, inclusion and diversity throughout the organization with staff and volunteers in the development of an impact-based program culture
- Represent the YMCA with area schools, organizations, community leaders, businesses and other interested persons in the community for the purpose of building and/or and maintaining collaborative relationships that strengthen programs
- Lead all non-club special events, activities, and meetings in which the YMCA Latino Achievers program is involved, including staff meetings, training, Scholarship dinner, Alumni events and assigned committees
- Assist other YMCA Community Action Programs (Y-CAP) staff with special programming activities and special events
- Work directly with the all YMCA Latino Achievers staff in developing programming, planning and overseeing general program operations at multiple MNPS and other schools in Davidson County
- Provide leadership, direction and supervision for YMCA Latino Achievers staff and administrative staff, including overseeing the performance evaluation system
- Travel to any secondary program locations when asked or needed to ensure the success of program activities
- Prepare and submit program reports, budgetary information and funding requests in a timely manner to appropriate staff
- Ensure the tracking system of data is evaluated and measured effectively in order to fulfill funding requirements and establish a strong case for new funding requests
- Lead and direct the development and continuation of YMCA Latino Achievers Alumni activities, including special events and ongoing follow-along services for scholarship recipients
- Ensure the strategic growth goals of the YMCA Latino Achievers program in serving the Latinx community
- Collaborate with the Philanthropy Department to align awareness tours to highlight both YMCA Achievers programs and support Y-CAP board engagement with program leaders and participants
- Participate as a staff leader in the Annual Giving Campaign by telling YMCA story by recruiting, leading and supervising volunteers and securing charitable donations
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Four-year college degree in a related field
Skills/Experience:
- Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
- Superior supervisory skills and an enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, members and participants to create a culture of service within our program
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must be highly organized with ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Comprehensive knowledge of the YMCA brand, programs and services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other software programs, as well as the ability to use most office equipment is required
- Ability to travel to multiple locations and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Bilingual required (Spanish)
- Minimum of one year experience leading staff team in Supervisory role
- Minimum of four years’ experience in Youth Development
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $37,716.00 - $47,145.00
