Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing, the Digital Media Manager plays the lead role in developing and managing the YMCA’s web presence, content strategy and brand voice. This position is directly accountable for helping the Y fulfill its brand promise through systems and processes designed to produce targeted, engaging, relevant, timely and actionable online and offline experience to the YMCA’s key stakeholders.
Areas of Responsibility:

- In consultation with the Online Experience/Marketing Operations Strategy Team, leads the development and execution of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s digital strategy and efforts to provide a quality digital experience to all of the organization’s key stakeholders
- Serves as the portfolio and project manager for all major Association digital media/online projects and initiatives, including web development and e-commerce
- Recommends and oversees the Association’s governance of its digital properties (web sites, mobile apps, etc.)
- Establishes and ensures the tracking of the Association’s digital-focused key performance indicators (site satisfaction scores, e-commerce, technical performance, etc.)
- Supports the execution of the Association’s content marketing strategy
- Has operational responsibility for the organization’s website properties, including development and implementation of new sites, maintaining the quality and technical performance of existing sites, search engine optimization, information architecture, web design, front-end web development, technical troubleshooting and other key functions
- Develops and is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day execution of the Association’s e-commerce strategies and initiatives
- Leads internal change management initiatives to help the Association make operational changes and improvements in order to maximize e-commerce revenues and provide a better digital experience for the organization’s key stakeholders
- Supervises internal and external web producers, web designers and other team members as assigned to further the organization’s digital experience objectives
- Supervises the work product of other staff members (at Association or center level), including content producers, designers and developers, responsible for digital-related projects; oversees regular audits to ensure web site and other channels are being used most effectively
- Provides oversight and quality control of all new digital-related projects, including development of budget/resource needs, completion timelines and plan for maintaining project’s future maintenance needs
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative research to assess YMCA digital audience needs and interests and how they align with YMCA’s mission, strategic goals, brand promise and digital strategy
- Performs content production, web design and front-end development duties as required to fulfill the Association’s digital objectives
Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years demonstrated experience producing and overseeing professional web sites and other digital properties
Skills/Experience:
- Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs, as well as the ability to use most office equipment is required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading and managing a portfolio of digital projects, including large-scale projects
- Demonstrated professional experience with web design and web development
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining dynamic content and database-driven web content management systems (experience with Drupal or similar database-driven content management systems preferred)
- Experience supervising, coaching and working with content producers, graphic artists, web designers and photographers to successfully implement digital strategies and objectives
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods highly desirable
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $57,362.00 - $71,702.00
