Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Association Marketing Manager, the Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for managing various marketing projects and processes in order to help the organization meet its marketing and communications objectives.
Areas of Responsibility:
MARKETING CAMPAIGN EXECUTION
- Personally execute any and all deliverables associated with assigned marketing campaigns as needed or directed by the Marketing Manager, including but not limited to:
- Copywriting and editing/proofing of marketing and communications collateral
- Email marketing
- Social Media Marketing and other digital advertising oversight/management
- Light-duty design tasks as needed
- Campaign tracking and measurement
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Serve as the marketing liaison for a portfolio of Association-wide program/product lines and/or departments as assigned by the Marketing Manager
- Act as the lead project manager for all marketing campaigns as assigned by the Marketing Manager, including the effective planning, execution and tracking of all campaign tasks, timelines, budgets and results
- Serve as a primary contact and help guide key stakeholders (operations/program leadership, related center staff, etc.) in their interactions and requests for support from the Marketing & Communications department
- Act as a product expert for assigned programs/services/product lines, understanding their target customers, strengths/differentiators, competitive environments, etc. in order to provide guidance and recommendations on the best marketing strategies and tactics
- Support additional marketing campaigns and projects as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree and Minimum five years’ experience in marketing; prior YMCA experience a plus
Skills/Experience:
- Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
- A cross-functional marketing generalist who knows how to plan and execute effective marketing campaigns
- Superior copywriting and editing skills
- Demonstrated experience planning, executing and tracking successful email marketing campaigns, including but not limited to audience targeting/segmentation, copywriting, design, A/B testing and automation/triggered email series.
- Proven experience with social media marketing and other digital marketing campaign strategies and tactics.
- Knowledge and experience with marketing production systems and processes
- Superior project management skills and ability to successfully manage several simultaneous campaigns and effectively juggle competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Requires excellent problem solving skills, a listen-first mentality and the ability to prioritize based on understood organizational goals and expected ROI
- Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software programs, as well as able to use most office equipment
- Knowledge of advertising design principles. Experience with InDesign and Photoshop preferred
- Proven experience with social media and email marketing platforms and strategy implementation
- Ability to travel to multiple locations and ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Experience with off- and on-line mass and target marketing. General knowledge of and ability to communicate marketing best practices and branding principles required. Proven experience in ecommerce and content marketing preferred.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $49,880.00 - $62,350.00
