Managers of Teacher Leadership and Development (MTLD) are the center and heart of Teach For America’s work. They are an educator, advocate and systems change leader charged with developing and cultivating teachers’ leadership skills and mindsets to foster educational equity and excellence. MTLDs will coach corps members towards broadened perspectives and knowledge to go beyond traditional expectations to advance the academic and personal growth of corps members’ students. MTLDs will accomplish this through partnering with communities, students and families as well as the larger network of MTLDs across the country. More, MTLDs will also support broader regional and organizational priorities, such as improving how we do our work in the region and selecting new corps members.
