The Mystic Branch is in the middle of a complete renovation and expansion, which is expected to be completed this October.  This is a very exciting time for the Mystic community and an excellent opportunity for an experienced Membership and Marketing Director to expand the membership and continue building a quality, cause driven team.

The Membership & Marketing Director will serve as the primary staff support to the Branch Director and will provide leadership and direction for the development and execution of comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations strategies for membership development, retention and growth.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for membership revenues, creating and targeting marketing strategies and measuring membership satisfaction.
  • Implement member quality standards and satisfaction survey action planning.
  • Maintain membership outcome measurements.
  • Identifies and resolves problem areas to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Develop operating goals and objectives, plan, and monitor the achievement of the plan and take appropriate action to ensure goals and objectives are met.
  • Promote program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and online registration.  Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments; and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
  • Serves on the Membership Associates Committee.
  • Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
  • Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
  • Process all memberships and program registrations.  Review all daily monetary transactions and make daily bank deposits.
  • Manages the YCares Financial Assistance Program for the Mystic Branch.
  • Supervise 1 full time and approximately 15 part time staff.  Hire, train and supervise Membership Engagement Associate, Welcome Center staff and Building Supervisor staff.
  • Conduct monthly membership staff meetings.
  • Oversee all Welcome Center operations and cover Welcome Center shifts as needed.
  • Oversee invoice coding, bi-weekly payroll and program registration data entry for the Mystic Branch.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and/or Communications preferred. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five plus years experience in membership, sales and/or marketing preferred. 
  • Must have experience with updating and maintaining websites and social media. 
  • Previous experience supervising staff is preferred. 
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with standard business software. 
  • Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communication skills with the ability to make presentations.
  •  Must possess excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills.
  • Must have proven ability to relate to top community leaders as well as developing professional relationships.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00
