Advanced Director of School Age Child Care and Camp

Develop and manage the overall strategy for delivering programs and services related to full day child care and school age child care. Ensure staff excellence in the delivery of all programs in a safe manner with high quality.  Manage all aspects of the Child Development Center/SACC that meet NJOOL standards. Create a team of highly qualified leaders that place the care of children and family education as a high priority. Serve as an overall leader for the YMCA and enhance the YMCA Mission.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee the operations and development of a $3M, 21 site, 60 Staff member After School and Camp Program
  • Develop and deliver high quality SACC and Camp programs that meet the needs of the community.  Ensure quality program delivery and effective use of resources including staff, volunteers and equipment within established budget.
  • Awareness and knowledge of NJ Office of Licensing regulatory standards regarding licensing, staff/child ratios and program delivery.
  • Awareness and knowledge of YMCA Camp programs, procedures and policies. 
  • Manage daily operations of the site, school-age classrooms, including the gym, drop off areas, outdoor facilities, buses, aquatic facilities and office.
  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of program registration, promotion, open houses, and communications. Assure communication and information is clear for all participants. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor Degree in Education, Recreation or related field with 3 years of working with youth
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 yrs. of camp experience.
  • Experience in staff supervision, committees and in providing leadership to groups.
  • Proven success in developing and managing camp programs.
