This position is responsible for the creation and execution of our association marketing strategy. They will be responsible for keeping our diverse members, staff, and the community informed with relevant association information through developing, implementing and maintaining marketing engagement across all marketing channels including print, web, social media, mobile, electronic newsletters, etc. Oversee the public website and social media channels, acting as chief writer and editor of these sites. Provide guidance, training and editorial counsel to program directors, social media account administrators and other relevant staff. Helps create and maintain association marketing plans and schedules. This position requires working closely and collaborating with department heads and outside organizations.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop annual operating goals, objectives and plan for the marketing and communications area
  • Monitor the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met
  • Hire and oversee marketing and communications support staff
  • Collaborate with all department heads to identify and implement opportunities to improve the member and program participant experience, and achieve member engagement goals through the strategic use of existing communication tools, including email and social media
  • Develop, produce and distribute program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with membership and marketing plans
  • Identify and communicate, verbally and in writing, stories of impact to improve mission and brand awareness at select locations
  • Establish contacts with media representatives and writes and submits press releases when appropriate
  • Develop high-quality marketing and communications materials, adhering to all Y-USA branding guidelines and closely aligned with the association’s image and strategies
  • Manage association website, e-communications, and in-house displays
  • Manage and monitor social media posts and responds to comments in a timely manner
  • Develops calendar alerts and submit to local publications
  • Assist with events and Annual Campaign planning as needed
  • Train association staff on brand guidelines as needed
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communication, or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two or more years’ experience developing marketing materials (print and electronic)
  • Strong skills in word processing, desktop publishing (InDesign), and e-communications
  • Must have strong interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries
  • Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve results
  • Goal-oriented and innovative, with a positive attitude
  • Possess creativity, initiative, good judgement, analytical skills and self-confidence
  • Fluency in second language desired
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00
