The Facilities Maintenance Technician will provide basic repairs and maintenance for the Pascagoula River Audubon Center. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, buildings and equipment as needed.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Maintain the grounds, paths, and trails as needed;
- Provide light basic building and deck maintenance as needed;
- Dispose of trash and recycled materials as needed;
- Conduct basic repairs to irrigations systems;
- Maintain all storage areas in a clean and orderly condition;
- Maintain equipment in good working condition;
- Coordinate work with outside vendors as needed;
- Perform other tasks as needed to maintain an orderly appearance of the grounds and ensure facility safety for public use.
Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience working as a maintenance technician or similar role;
- Strong carpentry and plumbing skills are required;
- Basic electrical skills are preferred;
- Ability perform maintenance and basic repairs on small tools and machinery is required;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Capacity to work easily and effectively with a wide range of people;
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed, including weekends and evenings;
- Demonstrated ability to use e-mail for basic communication;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license;
- Must be able to drive a vehicle pulling a basic utility trailer.
