The Facilities Maintenance Technician will provide basic repairs and maintenance for the Pascagoula River Audubon Center.   Specifically, s/he will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, buildings and equipment as needed. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintain the grounds, paths, and trails as needed;
  • Provide light basic building and deck maintenance as needed;
  • Dispose of trash and recycled materials as needed;
  • Conduct basic repairs to irrigations systems;
  • Maintain all storage areas in a clean and orderly condition;
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition;
  • Coordinate work with outside vendors as needed;
  • Perform other tasks as needed to maintain an orderly appearance of the grounds and ensure facility safety for public use.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience working as a maintenance technician or similar role;
  • Strong carpentry and plumbing skills are required;
  • Basic electrical skills are preferred;
  • Ability perform maintenance and basic repairs on small tools and machinery is required;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Capacity to work easily and effectively with a wide range of people;
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed, including weekends and evenings;
  • Demonstrated ability to use e-mail for basic communication;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle pulling a basic utility trailer.
