This role requires maintaining an up to date inventory of fitness equipment, skill in diagnosing and repairing fitness equipment in a commercial setting, conduct periodic preventative maintenance on fitness equipment. S/he will provide documentation of repair services and preventative maintenance logs for all fitness equipment.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Accurately diagnose equipment problems/malfunctions.
- Communicate effectively with Association Property Director and Center Staff
- Repair equipment – often including installation of new parts
- Maintain parts depot and shelf stock as needed
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance of equipment
- Maintain repair documentation via Facility Dude work order system
Secondary Functions:
- Make minor electrical repairs.
- Conducts minor carpentry and general repair work as needed.
- Conduct plumbing repairs.
- Performs minor pool equipment maintenance and repair.
- Perform routine facility preventative maintenance checks.
- Notifies branch executive director and property manager of any items needing immediate attention.
- Maintain repair documentation via Facility Dude work order system
Educational Background:
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required; 2 years of experience required
Skills/Experience:
- Working knowledge of cardio fitness equipment, strength equipment and other types of fitness equipment.
- General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas a plus.
- Skills in project management.
- Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Ability to proficiently use a smart phone, laptop and tablet.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $36,000.00
