The Director is responsible for developing markets and providing supervision of the branch youth sports, wellness and aquatics programs.  In addition, every position in the YMCA of Montgomery is responsible for upholding the Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that build character, make a difference, and change lives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Promote, administer and lead in development and implementation of Wellness programs and services, including membership recruitment and retention, and special events.
  • Counsels with members regarding their wellness needs and supervision of the wellness coach.
  • Develop, implement and monitor Youth Sports, Wellness and Aquatics budgets.
  • Secure and maintain all fitness facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in Aquatics and be able to implement new programs and ideas.
  • Maintain the pool operations.
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate all activities for the aquatics programs.
  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise all full and part-time employees in areas of responsibility.
  • Provide leadership for all staff including, but not limited to, demonstrating outstanding customer service, serving as a resource for problem solving and planning appropriate training experiences
  • Provide instruction and support for answering telephone, giving tours, receipting all fees received and managing communications with members.
  • Serve in a leadership role in the annual campaign.
  • Assist the Associate Director as needed in managing the branch facilities and programs.
  • Substitute for subordinate employees if required for adequate department coverage.
  • Coordinate CPR instructor training and staff CPR certification training for the association     
  • Work as a membership connector at the East YMCA.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $32,000.00 - $36,000.00
