Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Operations/COO, the Sports Administrator is responsible for carrying out all administrative processes in order to provide support to the sports programs at branch locations. This position also serves as support to the Association Sport Program Directors.  In addition, every position in the YMCA Of Greater Montgomery is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Oversight of all youth/adult basketball, football/flag football, volleyball, cheerleading and T-ball programs (other programs as assigned)
  • Assist in the oversight of youth soccer programs
  • Responsible for the management of the Association Sports Committee
  • Responsible for all uniform orders, including but not limited to:
    • Selection and vetting of Vendors (with input/consent of SVP/COO, and Sport Program Lead staff)
    • Communication with uniform vendor(s) with all orders and issues
    • Collection of all branch orders (combine) and provide to vendor
    • Coordination of uniform try-on kits, and uniform delivery to each branch
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordination of Pictures for participants at all locations
    • Allocates proceeds to each branch based on participation and agreement
  • Prepares and coordinates the distribution of handouts, brochures, letters and registration forms to participants, sponsors, and volunteers for sports
  • Prepares all center specific marketing materials and assists with association marketing plans 
  • Updates website information of sport programs through proper channels
  • Collects and submits program information forms to association office for input into program registration program, for all sports
  • Creates and distributes fact sheets for all programs under supervision
  • Updates the youth sports hotline (PlayerSpace) for any cancelations or changes to the schedule
  • Acts as PlayerSpace Liaison – acts as association help desk for coaches and parents, sets up webinars/trainings for directors with PlayerSpace, provides on going feedback to PlayerSpace for improvements
  • Acts as PlayerSpace data entry control compliance manager
  • Acts as PlayerSpace communication control manager for all program communications to coaches, parents, and participants
  • Creates, schedules and administers all coach’s trainings and parent meetings
  • Creates, schedules, and administers all trainings for front line sports program staff
  • Oversees the processes, timelines and implementation of quality sport programing for all youth sport programs
  • Controls and coordinates the gathering of information to form the annual association youth/adult sports schedule 
  • Receives all member concerns/questions (phone/email) and directs to appropriate director or coordinator as needed
  • Answering any/all questions regarding basketball, football/flag football, volleyball, cheerleading and T-ball, to assist parents and participants (other programs as assigned)
  • Oversees systems and paperwork for volunteer clearance forms, completion of coaches training and concussion paperwork
    • Includes but not limited to:
    • Completing and authorizing employee/volunteer background checks
    • Entering coaches completed information into the YMCA database on a season to season basis
  • Serves as a member of the Association Operations Team
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University plus two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 

Required Certifications

  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Oxygen administration or able to obtain within 120 days of hire.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00
