The incumbent must demonstrate our four core values: Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility. The Ozarks Regional YMCA is seeking a strong Aquatics Professional and business manager to grow the aquatics program and positively impact the Monett Family YMCA.
The Ozarks Regional YMCA is located in the beautiful Ozarks of Southwest Missouri. The incumbent must continue to nurture the strong partnership with the city and community. The Monett Area YMCA opened in 2004, and in 2018, two outdoor pools were built by the city adjacent to the Y and are under the management of the Monett Family YMCA.
The Senior Aquatic Director is responsible and accountable for the overall daily operations of the Aquatics Department including 2 year-round indoor pools and 2 seasonal outdoor pools.
Major areas include, but are not limited to: hands-on leadership, planning, organizing, implementing, and coordinating services of the aquatics program; training, development, and management of lifeguards and swim instructors, risk management of the aquatic environment and maintaining all state and local regulations, as well as, safety standards while fostering a cause-driven culture that is welcoming, genuine, and nurturing.
- Lead all Aquatics program staff teams to ensure programs and services meet community needs, supervising and evaluating existing program activities and establishing new programs including swim lessons, exercise classes and swim team.
- Monitor daily pool operations of two indoor pools and two outdoor seasonal pools making sure to adhere to all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations and best practices, including certifications.
- Oversee cleaning and area organization of aquatics facilities as well as manage proper operation, chemical delivery and testing for indoor and outdoor pools. Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
- Recruit, hire and train staff; onboard and develop them for success by providing direction and leadership.
- Assist in conducting lifeguard, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings, and monthly in-service trainings.
- Ensures records of staff certifications and trainings are current and complete.
- Creation and administration of annual aquatic budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Scheduling pool facility, classes, practices and swim meets while maximizing pool and staff time. Schedule lifeguards and approve payroll.
- Ensure the safety of all staff, members and guests in the aquatic areas and that all aquatic processes and practices are aligned with YMCA best practices.
- Serve as a YMCA ambassador to all elements of the community, engage and lead aquatic staff in participation in our Annual Campaign.
- 4+ years proven supervisory experience; Strong leadership skills with innovative and progressive programming that includes superior recruitment, promotion, strategic, and measurable goals
- A minimum of 3 years aquatic experience; Current Certification in Lifeguard, CPR/AED & First Aid, WSI, and CPO are required; LGI Certification is preferred
- Program and budget development experience
- Strong communication skills, time management, and organizational skills are required
- Competent computer skills; Windows environment
Salary: $37,500.00 - $40,500.00
