Under the supervision of the CEO, the Marketing Director is responsible for the organization, delivery, and overall quality of all Two Rivers YMCA marketing activities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Leads marketing program in accordance with local and YMCA of the USA graphic standards; as directed by CEO.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the YMCA charitable cause.  Understand the balance in strategy necessary to ensure the Y remains the most recognizable charity in our community, yet continues to experience membership and program enrollment grow. 
  • Administer the marketing budget.
  • Continue to enhance the overall Two Rivers YMCA brand and reputation while developing program specific brands that increase visibility and recognition of specific programs throughout our community, i.e. youth sports, aquatics, childcare, etc.
  •  Assists program staff in monitoring and developing membership and program enrollments and department revenue budgets. Lead department heads in creating annual marketing calendars and developing strategies that increase participation and reach new audiences.
  • Develop and implement an association-wide marketing plan and annual marketing year-at-a-glance calendar.  
  • Work closely with other YMCA colleagues to produce electronic and print materials.  This includes the production of presentations, proposals, member and donor newsletters, program flyers, forms, publications, handbooks, brochures, and ads using pictures of local events and activities whenever possible.
  • Maintain organized files of all marketing pieces produced.  Maintain website, social media and mobile apps. Maintain and edit digital photos. Maintain electronic files.
  • Assist executive staff at maintaining relationships with key media and other community contacts.
  • Represent the YMCA in community events, meetings, and seminars as needed.
  • Responds to all member, participant, and community inquiries and correspondence within one business day.
  • Assist with the Annual Campaign. 
  • Continue professional development as recommended by the YMCA of the USA and supervisor.

Direct Responsibilities

  • Marketing Expense approx. $100,000 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Has no direct employment supervision responsibility.  
  • Does direct the work of an occasional intern or group of volunteers.  
  • Implementation of association marketing plans requires regular interdepartmental training and budget monitoring.  
  • Carries out any supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in graphic design, marketing,    communications, public relations, related field and/or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 

Minimum Criteria for Candidates

  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certification preferred.
  • Must demonstrate personal values consistent with the YMCA Mission.

Language Skills 

  • Ability to speak and provide basic translation of multiple languages preferred.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, curriculum, policy/procedure manuals, and financial documents.  
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA.  Ability to speak effectively before various groups of people.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hiring Salary Range

  • $39,227 - $49,034 - $58,841 annually
  •    Min.          Mid.        Max

  • Life Insurance:               1x salary – 100% Y paid

  • Vacation:                       Per personnel policy:  Full time employees accrue and are eligible to use paid vacation based on the scheduled fulltime YMCA service length.
