The Community Program Director oversees multiple program areas which may span across functional areas within the association including but not limited to Youth Development, Camping, Beacons, School Success, Healthy Living and Child Care. The incumbent is responsible for developing, delivering, and administering the varied program portfolios of all facility and community based programming. The incumbent is responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising, and developing team members and volunteers.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop first set of external internship site partners, focusing on developing partners who can provide customer service and childcare worker internships; prospects will be drawn from the YMCA's network of corporate partners and community and general board members' companies.

- 40 interns beginning with Spring 2018
- 100 interns for the Summer 2018
- 45 interns for the Fall 2018
- 45 interns for the Spring 2019
- 100 interns for the Summer 2019
- The program will place 330 external interns over the course of the two-year grant period. External internships will be available to youth 16 and over; all external internship positions will be paid internships with salary paid by the internship host site.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop team members and volunteers.
- Develop and manage programs and activities for all facility and community based programming.
- Build and maintain relationships with agency and community partners to advance the mission of the programs.
- May write and assemble grant proposals as needed.
- Manage the requirements of established grant outcomes and provide required program data for local, state and federal program reports/evaluations.
- Manage the program budgets to assure that financial and program service goals are attained.
- Perform required administrative duties for the program.
- Communicate and interpret programs, objectives, policies, and operating procedures to all department team members, volunteers and Y members and participants.
- Deliver a high level of service for all program participants.
- Participate in a staff leadership role for the Annual Campaign as defined by the Executive Director.
- Data collection, reports and training may also be part of the role
Educational Background:
BS/BA related field
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating youth development or community programs.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various groups to achieve a desired end result.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Must be organized, self-directed, and creative.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid Training, or able to become certified within the first 30 days of employment. (Training available upon employment)

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $44,400.00 - $52,300.00
