The Communications and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals defined by the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing.Key support areas may include but not limited to mission advancement, social responsibility, employee communications, external communications and association events.
Areas of Responsibility:
Write and edit media materials, mission stories, annual report, wellness messages, social responsibility newsletter, recruitment newsletter, award submissions, etc.
- Maintain news, events and program web pages with digital team.
- Research and mine for stories.
- Coordinate video and photo shoots.
- Create reports and lists for mission story collection, media, media clips, editorial calendars, etc.
- Support association events including Y Run, The Gathering and full-time team meetings
- Assist in the planning and implementation of marketing campaign tactics. Tactic channels include print, direct mail, radio, email, web, social media, signage and outdoor boards.
- Execute deliverables within the project scope.
- Define and assign project tasks and resource requirements.
- Execute full scale project plans and schedules to meet delivery dates within project timelines.
- Work with cross-functional team(s) to achieve project deliverables.
- Meet regularly with the project team and supervisor to provide updates on project work.
- Provide support to project team.
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels.
- Resolve issues that arise during work on a project. Collaborate with supervisor and project owner to identify solutions.
- Work within project budget and resource allocation.
- Track project deliverables using appropriate tools such as Work Zone.
- Define quality expectations. Assure and control quality.
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
Educational Background:
Degree in communications, marketing, promotions or other related field.
Skills/Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 1 year of communications or marketing experience.
- Experience in project management techniques and tools with high attention to detail.
- Experience working with multi-channel marketing: print, direct mail, email, web, social media.
- Experience planning, organization and decision making skills.
- Experience coordinating the creation of communications and marketing collateral.
- Understanding of brand strategy and marketing concepts
- Ability to write proof copy for communications materials and marketing collateral pieces.
- Ability to clearly communicate client needs with internal graphics team and outside resources.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve desired results.
- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Excellent time-management skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of membership-based organizations, fundraising, social responsibility initiatives
- Experience in communicating and marketing to diverse audiences.
- Experience in a retail or membership organization.
Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $19.00 - $22.00
