Directs and supports the development, organization and implementation of high quality YMCA aquatic programs (Group Swim Lessons, Private Swim Lessons, and Swim Team). Ensures that strategic and tactical goals of the Association are met. Reports directly to Senior Program Director.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensures that the strategic goals of the Association are met by developing and promoting strong family and social values; leadership; opportunities for youth at risk; sense of community, international/intercultural relations; and an appreciation for environmental concerns.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, related field preferred.
Skills/Experience:
Skills/Knowledge:
- Requires understanding of group work process, program and staff development, skilled in general management and communications.
- Must be proficient in Micro Soft word programs.
- Must be people oriented, possess strong management and supervisory skills, be well organized and multi-task oriented.
- Knowledge of program fiscal management.
Education/Training:
- 2 years minimum experience in program planning and supervising of staff and volunteers.
- Have and maintain current certification as a YMCA Lifeguard (First Aid/CPR/AED, Oxygen Administration).
- Completion of YMCA program-specific and trainer certifications.
- 2 years minimum experience working in aquatics programs and activities.
- General office operations experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean traffic abstract.
- TB test required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $35,553.00 - $44,416.00
