Position ensures compliance with all Texas Health and Human Services Commission (TXHHSC) standards, applicable laws and regulations and local and national YMCA standards.  This position ensures the safety and well being of all children through staff training and evaluation, curriculum development and monitoring, parent involvement and outcome measurement evaluation surveys.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable TXHHSC standards, laws and internal policies and procedures at all times.
  • Conducts quality assurance and ensures conformity with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
  • Coordinates and ensures purchase of snacks and supplies orders for program.
  • Coordinates promotion of all child care programs with the Marketing director.
  • Ensures that program fees are collected in a timely manner, and that support staff complete all required paperwork.
  • Processes all applications for financial aid scholarships and keeps statistical reports of such.
  • Provides direct supervision of child care staff.
  • Submits monthly statistical data as needed.
  • Meets target enrollment and financial goals as per budget.
  • Maintains current CPR/First Aid certification and other YMCA and licensing certifications as needed.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS degree is preferred, or its equivalent in Education, Child Development and/or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • Extensive experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.  Must meet TXHHSC licensing standards for a child care center director.

Required Certifications

  • Maintain current TX Directors License or acquire within 30 days of hire.
  • Maintain Criminal Background Check every two years.
  • Obtain a minimum of 30 hours of training every two years. 
  • Must successfully complete The YMCA’s New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire.
  • Must successfully complete The YMCA’s Engaging with Families within 30 days of hire.
  • Must successfully complete The YMCA’s Principles of Early Learning & Afterschool within 30 days of hire.
  • Must successfully complete any and all YMCA of Midland Child Abuse Prevention trainings within 30 days of hire.
  • Must successfully complete the YMCA’s Foundations of Listen First within 30 days of hire.
  • Must complete Blood Borne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be a YMCA Team Leader or obtain within two years of hire.
  • Maintain updated certifications of the job including CPR/AED, First Aid, Medication Administration Training, Supervision Trainings and CATCH, and any other as directed by your supervisor.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00
