Oversees the daily maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the facility, grounds and vehicles. Monitoring of the custodial team, preventative maintenance, repairs and general labor as needed.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide daily inspection and perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
- In the absence of the Director of Facilites, supervise and monitor Y custodial staff and outsource custodial staff to assure that daily duties are performed and Y facility is clean and safe.
- Address safety issues of facility, grounds, or vehicles.
- Provide seasonal maintenance support to Ingersoll Outdoor Center when needed.
- Perform general repairs, respond to work requests, and complete assigned tasks.
- Assist in coordinating and managing projects.
- Light HVAC, belts and filters, program timers and thermostats
- Grounds keeping, snow removal, general carpentry, electrical ,plumbing, painting and general repairs
- Communication with staff team and members regarding facility and safety issues.
- Inventory control and monitoring.
- Pool operations and maintenance.

- Support and promote organizational priorities.
- Work with supervisor to promote key elements of the strategic plan.
- Interpret the YMCA as a membership organization and represent the YMCA positively at work and in the community at all times.

- Update professional knowledge through self-study, research, and conference and workshop participation.
- Cultivates strong working relationships with the YMCA members, staff, program participants and parents.
- Attends all required staff meetings and trainings.
Educational Background:
High School Diploma and at least 3 years facility maintenance experience
Skills/Experience:
- General knowledge and experience in facility maintenance, required skills include;
- Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and wiring, light HVAC, grounds keeping, cleaning, small machine repair.
- Computer, organizational, management skills needed.
- Management of pool systems and water chemistry.
- Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Prior pool knowledge and experience is preferred.
- NSPF pool certification, as a licensed pool operator, is required within the first six to twelve months of employment. This certification requires understanding of math and chemistry.
Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $18.00 - $21.00
