In accordance with the Christian principles of the YMCA, the Program Director will administer all functions related to YMCA programs: youth and adult sports, preschool, after school child care (KEYS), summer day camp, martial arts, fitness and special events while exemplifying the Y values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Under the direction of the CEO and with the Board of Directors, other YMCA staff and volunteers, the Program Director will give leadership and direction to the implementation of the sports program, fitness program, and family serving programs. The director will supervise staff and volunteers as it relates to YMCA programs.
- Develops, plans, coordinates and evaluates sports leagues for youth.
- Provide adult orientations and youth certifications of the Wellness Center.
- Responsible for equipping the gymnasium, racquetball court and wellness center.
- Responsible for developing and planning adult and youth fitness programs.
- Work with Executive Director to hire, evaluate and supervise babysitting staff, KEYS staff, preschool staff, day camp staff and gym staff.
- Recruit, train (or provide access to training), supervise and evaluate staff
- Work with the Aerobics Department Head in coordinating all fitness classes.
- Attend all program committee meetings.
- Responsible for departmental budgets.
- Establish goals and objectives for the departments listed above; goals should include emphasis on YMCA mission and character values.
- Plan and implement special events.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and events within the departments.
- Prepares purchase requests or approves purchase requests for supplies needed in these departments.
- Develops strong parent and community involvement in all programs.
- Shares responsibility as building supervisor.
- Assists in implementing the Strategic Plan and works with other staff in programming where needed.
- Represents the YMCA and maintains relationships with the community.
- Shares as a member of the total staff of the YMCA in the responsibility for the administration for the total
- Association; participates in such projects as staff training, Annual Support Campaigns and Capital Campaigns.
- Experience in planning and implementing programs preferred.
- Experience in management or supervision preferred.
- Strong communication, written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills required.
- Must be able to multi task, be able to manage and cultivate relationships, and demonstrate sound mature judgement
- Must relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community served.
- Y-USA Team Leader Certification preferred
- CPR/First Aid required in 90 days of employment

Salary: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00
