The Wellness & Aquatics Director manages all aspects of assigned programs. Responsible for budgeting, marketing, and leadership of staff in the wellness center, seasonal aquatics programs, active older adults programs and family programs.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers.
- Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing of assigned programs and distribution of program information.
- Organizes and schedules program registrations.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assists in fund raising activities and special events.
- Compiles program statistics - monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of assigned programs.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Experience:
- Current certifications in group exercise and aquatics (or ability to secure required certifications after hire)
- Previous management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other non-profit agency
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with other community organizations
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Compensation/Benefits:
Starting annual salary is $36,000.
