The Family Programs Director manages all aspects of assigned programs.  Responsible for budgeting, marketing, and leadership of staff in all family programs.  This includes child care, summer/holiday camp, special events and youth activities.  Starting annual salary is $32,000 to $36,000.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Assists in the marketing of assigned programs and distribution of program information.
  • Organizes and schedules program registrations.
  • Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Assists in fund raising activities and special events.
  • Compiles program statistics - monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of assigned programs.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to work well with children and parents
  • Previous management and child care experience, preferably in a YMCA or other non-profit agency
  • Excellent communication skills and creativity
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with other community organizations
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $32,000.00 - $36,000.00
