Areas of Responsibility: 

Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the coordination of day to day activities of program and services.
  • Ensures that program follows organization’s guidelines, policies, licensing and contracts; monitor staff and records to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinates personnel activities within this program, including but not limited to: the interview and selection of the employees, evaluation of employee performance, supervision for assigned staff, and coordination with others providing supervision/consultation to program staff.
  • Oversees scheduling of shelter staff and shelter calendar for both staffing and activities ensuring appropriate unit structured times are followed.
  • Direct supervision of various Residential Program Supervisors and responsible for oversight of all Residential staff.
  • Ensures staff/client ratio is always in compliance and fills in for line staff as needed to maintain ratio.
  • Works with Program Director to assess and recommend appropriate modifications to staffing patterns, protocols, procedures.
  • Provides supervision and training to shelter staff under their purview. Supervises and evaluates student interns accepted into the program as deemed appropriate.
  • Ensures data, program information and reports to fulfill contracts, grants and other funding requirements and works collaboratively with the Grant Writer.
  • Oversees, maintains and ensures activities logs and all other required documentation is completed accurately and timely according to contractual requirements.
  • Keeps Supervisor informed of client, staffing and program concerns and requests assistance as appropriate.
  • Will be available for Supervisors and other staff on an “on-call” basis
  • Reports program outcomes to Program Director and Vice President of Programs.
  • Assists in oversight of shelter food program.
  • Manages environment of care for all shelter houses.
  • Communicates any urgent needs of shelter operations to Program Director.
  • Assists with audit/licensure/site visit preparation.
  • Models expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness.
  • Represents the organization and program in the community.
  • Participates in continuing education and training related to the program.
  • Attends and participates regularly in Team and Program meetings.
  • Meets regularly in person for individual supervision with the Supervisor or designee.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree and experience in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in related field required.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must have at least 5 years prior supervisory experience in a child welfare or related setting and experience that includes oversight of staff, training, facilitating disciplinary processes, providing coaching/feedback and interview/selection of candidates.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and hands on management skills.
  • Demonstrated crisis management skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to multitask, delegate and follow up in a fast moving and changing environment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology in performing job duties.
